Neuromodulators reduce frown lines and wrinkles by temporarily relaxing the facial muscles. They can also reduce sweating when injected under the arms, and they can even help reduce migraines. Popular neuromodulators include Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.
How Do Neuromodulators Work?
Neuromodulators work by temporarily blocking the nerve impulse that controls facial muscle movements, thereby restricting the ability to contract these muscles. Without movement of these muscles in the face, certain wrinkles can be reduced and in some cases eliminated. Untreated muscles still work normally, so you can continue to express feelings naturally. Neuromodulators are generally used to treat the upper face, targeting frown lines, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet. The results last between 3-4 months and then need to be repeated.
Recovery Time
There is no downtime from Neuromodulators, and you can continue your daily activities right after treatment. There may be mild swelling for 24 hours after treatment, and the full results of the treatment will be visible after 3 to 14 days.
It’s important to avoid rubbing the injection site for 24 hours and to take a day off from exercising. We will provide you with post-treatment instructions.
Neuromodulators Treatment Process
We start with an initial consultation to make sure this treatment is right for you.
Getting Neuromodulators takes less than 30 minutes, and no anesthesia is needed. A small needle is used to inject Neuromodulators into specific muscles, causing only minor discomfort.
